Actress Anushka Shetty has been roped to reprise the role former heroine B Saroja Devi’s role in the movie. B. Saroja Devi has acted in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi movies. She is one of the most successful female leads in the history of Indian cinema. She has acted in around 200 films in over six decades. In Telugu cinema, she made her debut with Panduranga Mahatyam in 1959.
As NTR and B Saroja Devi were considered a hit pair, director Krish thought of roping a star heroine and Anushka has given the nod. The role is like a cameo and Anushka will have less screen presence when compared to the other actresses. Nandamuri Balakrishna is playing the role of legendary actor and politician NTR. Krish has been highly successful in picking up the right actors and transforming them as per the requirement.
Currently Anushka is on a weight loss mission and is expected to join the sets of NTR soon. Rakul Preet Singh and Tamannaah will be seen in other pivotal roles in NTR. Made in two parts, the first part NTR-Kathanayakudu will be releasing on 9th January and the second part NTR-Mahanayakudu will be releasing on 24th January. The films are being jointly bankrolled by Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri under NBK Films, Vaaraahi Chalana Chitram, and Vibri Media banners. MM Keeravani is providing music for the films.
