Since the time the release dates of AAA and Taxiwala were announced, there was a buzz in the industry that the clash between the movies would not be a healthy aspect for the distributors. If the buzz from industry circles is to be believed, makers of Taxiwala and Amar Akbar Anthony (AAA) are looking to avoid direct clash between the films. Both the movies are announced for release on the same day (Non 16). But releasing two mid range films on a non-holiday will damage the prospects of both the movies.
So the producers of Taxiwala (UV and Geetha Arts) and Amar Akbar Anthony (Mythri Movie Makers) have come to a decision to release the movies with a gap of one day between them. As per the outcome of discussions, Taxiwala will be releasing with the delay of a day and there is no change in the release date of Amar Akbar Anthony. The makers have reportedly agreed upon releasing AAA on Nov 16 and Taxiwala on Nov 17. Talking about this delay, Vijay took to Twitter and said, “Release date announcement -#Taxiwaala will now arrive Nov 17! Driver arriving a day late, but driver promises a fun ride to the destination!” Interestingly, the clash between Vijay’s previous film NOTA and AAA was averted in October as the latter was pushed to November. Both heroes are looking to bounce back with these films, since their last films turned out to be flops. Considering this, it’s a wise decision to not to release the films on same day.
