Vijay Devarakonda will be put to test again with the long delayed Taxiwala. There’s no denying the craze of Vijay Deverakonda despite the failure of his latest film NOTA. It is evident from the kind of openings of the Tamil dubbed film, about his crowd pulling capabilities and his stamina as a star. However, NOTA has hurt the momentum of Deverakonda who was on the rise until Geetha Govindam.
Taxiwala was deliberately delayed for Geetha Govindam with an idea of releasing this film directly in digital media. However, producers didn’t move to Vijay’s demands and releasing Taxiwala on November 15. This low budget film was okayed by Vijay before Arjun Reddy made him a star. Now all of the sudden this film will clash with Raviteja’s Amar Akbar Antony (AAA) directed by Srinu Vaitla. AAA was earlier planned for release on October 5, but the makers decided to avoid Dussera rush and postponed its release. AAA is now eyeing at November 16th release as the producers are not willing to delay it until December and the makers are confident that it has good content that would work well at box office. They have a finished product on hands and they don’t like to wait for another month for the sake of better season.
Although Vijay Deverakonda’s film is a potential threat, Taxiwala is not riding on high expectations as it lost sheen due to multiple postponements. Taxiwala will face stiff competition from AAA that is looking different from Raviteja’s regular potboilers.
